Metrópolis

Based on the novel by Thea von Harbour, Metropolis tells the story of the city of the future, where the machine is god. The workers – servants of the machine – live in an underground city supported in their acceptance of their lot by a pure young woman. She is in love with the son of the master of the city, and presents the young man to them as their future liberator. Metropolis is the undoubted masterpiece of German expressionism.

The original music, played live, has been created for the occasion by the pianist and electronic music composer Morales. Vibrant and playful, it features synthetic, experimental sounds and the aroma of dreampop. This musical miracle combines the wisdom of a master with the relaxed attitude of a newcomer, constructing a seductive, exciting and, above all, lethal landscape.
